about

a height field is a 3d rectangular mesh with randomly generated heights, creating a mountain like surface. for this group project, michelle was primarily responsible for the gui and the camera, as well as implementing the subdivision surface algorithm, which slowly curves the edges generating smoother surfaces, and the fractalization algorithm, which fractalizes the surface and (if done properly) gives it the appearance of a mountain range. she also implemented the nifty snow caps feature.

coded with c++, opengl, and fltk, and brain.
